Dong Ding can be translated as "icy peak" or "frozen summit", referring to a specific mountain range where this tea is grown, which is also the original tea-producing area of Taiwan.
The tea cultivars grown there today were first planted over 150 years ago, and came from seeds originating in the Fujian Province. This medium oxidised and heavily roasted Oolong comes from the first flush pickings, and is carefully machine-rolled by farmers who specialise in this method of production.
The skillful production methods of these farmers result in a very creamy and nutty tea, with a smooth and somewhat thick liquor, boasting roasted notes and a touch of floral undertones.
